About Kimbrell Co, a division of Burns & Wilcox
Founded in 1986, our office is domiciled in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. The Kimbrell Company, Inc. progressed steadily throughout its first decade by providing Excess & Surplus products to retail agents. Coinciding with the company's 10th anniversary and to further expand the services provided to our retail agents, Preferred Markets, Inc. was formed to exclusively provide standard products on an admitted basis only.
Complementing the organization, The Kimbrell Company, Inc./Florida and Preferred Markets, Inc./Florida were established January 1, 1998.
On January 1st, 2004, The Kimbrell Company, Inc. and all related affiliates were acquired by First Financial Holdings, Inc.
On October 1st, 2011, Kimbrell Insurance Group became part of the Burns & Wilcox family. Burns & Wilcox is the largest independent wholesale broker and underwriting manager in North America and leads the way in specialty insurance products and solutions for retail agents and brokers. We continue to maintain our presence at the current location in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Our focus remains on Personal and Commercial insurance, and we look forward to offering enhanced products and services in the near future.
